Who's hiding? 

Chris made his first weld today after spending a couple weekends cleaning up the garage in preparation.  

Maia is thinking about taking some of her first steps.  

We took our first trip to Ojai, a cute little town northwest of here. We got to play at their park, stroll their main street, and eat ice cream!  

Whoooo is among us?

We have been hearing an owl close by at bedtime and sometimes during the night, but it always seemed to be somewhere down in the gulch. Well, last night I was awakened by a loud landing/tapping on the roof. It sounded like the crows when they land on the roof, but BIGGER. And then it started hoo-hoo hooooing! I wanted to go see so bad, but the inertia wouldn't let me. I figured it would fly away too fast also. So anyway, this isn't exactly a "name that bird", but now we can all sit and wonder what KIND of owl it is.... oh, the fun!

I know, you diehards are saying, um hello, where are the pictures of Sofia and Maia? We are having a small equipment malfunction. I can't find the battery charger and we don't have any regular batteries. Anyone seen it?

Illustration Blog

I've started a new blog as you may have noticed over there in my links. I am going to try to keep up with Illustration Friday (www.illustrationfriday.com) and post a new illustration every week, but we'll see. Right now the biggest challenge will be getting it done in a week. I usually have an idea mulling around in my head for weeks or months, e.g. Well Woman, before I even start any sketches, so this will be different.

Maia is starting to eat more food, but the catch is she insists on doing it herself... isn't she cute?
