Name this bird... It's not the one I mentioned a while ago, but a new one we saw this morning. I have not yet consulted my book so I don't have a guess yet. Oh, and it had some white feathers in its tail when it flew off.

Man, you're good. I hadn't even found it yet. My book shows the slate colored male and then smaller photos of the different varieties, like the Oregon. Yes, I think you are correct. And hey, no complaining - you try chasing birds around the backyard without scaring them off!
